The communication settings are: 9600 baud, 8 data bits, l stop bit, No Parity, and No Flow Control.The WebMon will do a reset and come up in about 30 seconds using the new IP data. Hit “Y” and then hit “Enter” to confirm that you do wish to perform a soft reset. Once the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway address have been entered, you MUST do a “Soft Reset”.This should prompt you to enter your optional IP Gateway address that you want to WebMon to use for access outside the local network from now on. Type “Set Gateway Address” and hit “Enter”.You should have some familiarity with HyperTerminal and you will need to know what COM port to use on your PC.The most common method of setting the IP address information is to connect a PC running HyperTerminal, ProComm, Attachment, (or other terminal software) to the DB-9 connector (RS-232) on the CPU card.(If you need help determining what IP data to set please consult with you IT professional.) You must setup a new IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address (if any) before you can communicate with the Web Mon on your network.Once the WebMon has completed its power up cycle it will immediately begin network operations using a default IP address of 192.168.29.This LED indicates that the WebMon has completed its POST test and is now ready to process your configuration, commands, or provide network event status. Turn on the power to the WebMon and observe that the Status LED turns on (green) after about 30 seconds.It is a good policy not to wire anything to the WebMon at anytime with power on.Make this connection with any breakers or fuses in the “off’’ position ( or removed). After making both ground connections above you may begin wiring alarms, relays, analog signals, Ethernet, serial communications, and other wiring.This is important for the safe operation and long life of the WebMon as well as any attached equipment. Please be sure to connect Chassis ground and then Battery Ground (Return) per your company’s installation standards before making any other connections. ![]() ![]() If a new option is detected or a card changes slots, a new ( default) database will be generated for that card. Note: The WebMon will use the existing database (if any) for each option card discovered on power up.The WebMon automatically detects the presence of all options at power up. The (Edge) options are configured at the factory to your specifications. Before plugging or unplugging ANY card please be sure that the WebMon is powered oft: You may move a card to any slot, remove a card, or install a card at anytime. The (Matrix) option cards are usually installed in your WebMon by Dante! before shipping.Using your own hardware you may also mount the WebMon to any shelf, wall, or other flat surface at any angle you choose. Mounting hardware is provided by Dantel in a small bag attached to the WebMon when shipped to your location. The WebMon (Edge) mounts to any that surface at any angle. The WebMon (Matrix) can be installed in any standard 19” or 23” equipment rack.See Hardware Installation steps in section 1.20 below. The remainder of the WebMon configuration may now be performed on-line using a standard web browser to the IP address provided.This will reset the WebMon and enable the IP address information. ![]()
